Good morning, people of Castleford. 

Yesterday, I took the family to see ‘Wicked; Gone for Good’ at Escape’s Vue Epic. A bit long for the kids but they enjoyed it. Personally, I am intrigued by the character of Elphaba who is good and caring, but even those she thought were friends turn against her. Reminds me of a dark side of politics.

The movie’s message is an apt one for the 16 days of action. Too many people believe the nasty lies they are told and, when they finally discover the truth, do nothing. It's not everyone. In the movie there are a few who do understand, don’t believe the gossip and are prepared to help. Should we go along with the crowd or should we challenge, to champion those who are being persecuted?

Outside Xscape, the kids had another treat - the Arriva Christmas bus had arrived. They queued up to see Santa in his own bus and show him their wish list.

Let me know your bonfire night tales. Today, two good news items about improving our town centre. The third of three murals has been given the go ahead. This is for the Bancroft Road subway. The subway has had a reputation for being unfriendly but this news marks a positive change. I'm looking forward to the 'Destination Castleford' boards. What do you think of the idea?
