Major fire on Savile Road.

Firefighters from across West Yorkshire battled a significant blaze at a commercial premises on Savile Road on the evening of August 26. The incident prompted widespread road closures, and residents were advised to avoid the area.

Launch of the new Roman Castleford Uncovered digital experience, created by One To One Development Trust, working with Wakefield Museums and Castles, Castleford Civic Society and Castleford Heritage Trust.





Pumpkin Patch. Kids can pick their own pumpkin, carve it into a spooky masterpiece, and snap a photo with seasonal scarecrow and wheelbarrow displays.

Residents turned out in force to mark the 80th VE Day anniversary, while families enjoyed a record-setting Roman Day. Plenty of good news: a fresh look for our buses, more police on our streets, awards for our children’s homes, and appealing public art.    80th ANNIVERSARY VE DAY On Thursday 8th May, I stood at Castleford War Memorial as wreaths were laid in memory of the fallen. Moments like these remind us of the great sacrifices made and the importance of not forgetting them.
