To celebrate, the Friends of Castleford Library (FOCAL), arranged for former library staff to join a reunion. Although most of the library and museum is recent, the front part still makes use of the 1905 Carnegie building. Has the change in former council homes to a landlord, still based locally but moving away from the council, a good thing for the district? Are digital ID cards a benefit or a danger to the public? These are some of the issues debated at yesterday’s council meeting. What are your views? Tonight is the "Reclaim the Night" walk in the district. starting at 6pm at the WX, near Wakefield bus station, and due to end about 8.30.  As part of the 16 days of action, the march is to highlight the need for women and girls to be safe at night.
