CASTLEFORD DAILY BRIEFING OF NEWS AND EVENTS 20 OCTOBER 2025

20 October 2025 Compiled by Tony Wallis of 'Talk Castleford with Tony’

Improvements to Castleford market, a new play area at the Valley Gardens Castleford and a neighborhood square in the Potteries area of the town have been funded from a "tax" on new developments.

A report going to the council's cabinet tomorrow gives more information. Should money from the contributions, called Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) be spent local to the developments? Is the public being consulted enough on where this money goes?
