CASTLEFORD DAILY BRIEFING OF NEWS AND EVENTS 10 OCTOBER 2025

10 October 2025 World Health Day Compiled by Tony Wallis of 'Talk Castleford with Tony’

I'm wearing a yellow shirt this morning because it's World Mental Health Day 2025. This year's themes “access to services.”

The earlier people seek help the better. So, it's useful to notice early signs and seek help if needed.

There's more about this subject at the ned of this briefing.

WX at Wakefield city centre (near the bus station) is running an event today to help.

Whatever you think about the controversy of the new Costa being built on the Bridge Street car park, lots of our residents like Costa. In "News" - one of two local Costa cafes has temporary closed. What do you think of Costa? We have many excellent cafés, are they threatened by Costa's expansion?

Trivia There is no roundabout on Aire Street. The one at Bridgefoot is on Bridge Street and the one near Queen's Mill is on Savile Road. Aire Street runs between the two but not onto either roundabout.
