CASTLEFORD DAILY BRIEFING OF NEWS AND EVENTS 21 SEPTEMBER 2025

 Compiled by Tony Wallis

Today, Wakefield Council launches its survey on flying the Union Jack, and Tigers reveal their crest for 2026, their centenary year.

Personally, I like the crest. It shows the club was formed in 1926, has a Roman shield to show the town’s origins and is reminiscent of the excellent 60th anniversary shirt design. Have a look (link below) and tell us what you think.

The survey about flying on the flags is anonymous. If having written a response, you want to share it for discussion, please share it on ‘Talk Castleford with Tony’.

Every morning I compile a helpful briefing of the latest news and events for Castleford. Initially intended to help me as a local councillor, I now publish it to the public. I hope you find it useful.
