CASTLEFORD DAILY BRIEFING OF NEWS AND EVENTS 20 SEPTEMBER 2025

Compiled by Tony Wallis

My father worked for Bill and Ben, the Castleford merchants who had a couple children's puppets (The Flowerpot Men) named after them. Anyone remember Bill and Ben, the brothers? Heer's a clip for 'Radio Times' 7 December 1960:

Heritage Open Days are coming to an end. There have been some good events in Castleford this year. What does "Castleford heritage" mean to you?

Every morning I compile a helpful briefing of the latest news and events for Castleford. Initially intended to help me as a local councillor, I now publish it to the public. I hope you find it useful.
