Yesterday I attended the short ceremony at the war memorial to mark the 80th anniversary of VE Day. 

Scam warning: As part of my mission to expose scams, I’ve researched a YouTube ad that asks you to buy a device that simply connects to your TV where you can access streaming services like Netflix for free. To good to be true? It is. The device allows your TV to access the apps (if you have a smart TV your TV does that anyway) but, contrary to what the ad implies, you still have to register and pay to use those apps. Trip adviser is full of negative reviews of disappointments and obstacles to getting a refund. Here are trip adviser reviews of the device featured in the ad I saw:

Residents turned out in force to mark the 80th VE Day anniversary, while families enjoyed a record-setting Roman Day. Plenty of good news: a fresh look for our buses, more police on our streets, awards for our children’s homes, and appealing public art.    80th ANNIVERSARY VE DAY On Thursday 8th May, I stood at Castleford War Memorial as wreaths were laid in memory of the fallen. Moments like these remind us of the great sacrifices made and the importance of not forgetting them.
