CASTLEFORD DAILY BRIEFING 15 AUGUST 2025 - 80th ANNIVERSARY OF VJ DAY

 Compiled by Tony Wallis

New book by David Waddington - see below

Today is the 80th anniversary of the end of the war between the allies, including the United Kingdom, and Japan. A brief remembrance will be held at the war memorial in the town centre at 11am.

Every morning I compile a helpful briefing of the latest news and events for Castleford. Initially to help me as a local councillor, I now publish it to inform a wider audience. I hope you find it useful.

Regards,

Tony
