NEWS
Warm Weather Warning
With a very warm day today, these warning have been issued:
- Do not go into rivers or canals to cool off. It can be fatal because of the dangers of currents and hidden hazard.
- Do not leave in dogs in hot cars. It can seriously harm your pets.
- Do not light fires, such as barbecues, in public parks. The dry grass can quickly become a spreading fire.
Plans for a new riverside park in Castleford approved by Wakefield’s planning committee
The application is to approve demolition of buildings alongside the town centre bank of the River Aire, replacing them with a riverside park to complement the Castleford Footbridge. Queen’s Mill and the Ship Inn will remain. It was unanimously approved by the committee.
