PLANNING APPLICATION - FORMER NESTLE SITE

In January I reported a planning application for the former Nestlé site on Wheldon Road seems imminent. Barratt & David Wilson Homes Yorkshire West have submitted an application for 159 homes on the site. The committee granted outline permission in 24th May 2019. I was on the committee and voted in favour.

LISTED BUILDING - PUBLIC URINAL, GLASSHOUGHTON

In 1994, some residents considered moving the building, which is on Front Street, to a better location as it was in a poor state and vandalized. However, the council decided because of problems and cost, the building could not be moved. The move would also need the permission of English Heritage. The council agreed with my request to secure the building. The response from the conservation team to my recent enquiry is that the building cannot be moved. They agreed to raise the profile of the listed building.
